Hi, I’m a PhD student at Canterbury Christ Church University and have just finished an MSc in Leadership and Mgmt in Policing with the University of Warwick Business School, and an MRes in PoIicing (also from Canterbury). I also have a Law degree and English Language Degree in my back pocket, and have been a serving Police Officer for over 13 years at the time of writing. I’m passionate about using good research in Policing and believe that better partnerships between Police and Academia represent a good proportion of the future.
I’m one of 7 students lucky enough to have been a part of the Paul McKeever scholarship ( @PMScholarship on Twitter) and am currently studying social isolation in the cops. The scholarship course was funded by the Metropolitan Police Federation and its aim was to improve the use of good research in Policing and form strong relationships between academics and cops on the front line.
In another life I have 2 children and an understanding wife, 3 Traditional Martial Arts Black Belts and am currently pursuing my 4th in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (hardest yet by miles!). I also enjoy lifting heavy things and using a push iron (whenever I have any time at all!). I’ve been told I’m a nice bloke, so if you want to get in touch, feel free to drop me a quick message at firstname.lastname@example.org
I’m @DedicatedPeeler on Twitter if you would prefer to Tweet me 🙂
